What is the best strategy for using the MagnaBait? |

Fresh Water Fishing: The “Doughnut Hole” Strategy
For the most consistent results:
Do not fish the MagnaBait as if it were the center of a target. Fish it as if you were eating a doughnut, from around the edges. Here’s why: Fish can’t ignore the MagnaBait any more than you could ignore a sudden loud unexpected fireworks display. At first you’re startled and move away, then you want to be close enough to indulge your excitement and sense of curiosity. Conversely, you also want to stay far enough away to avoid being burned. Like people, the closer fish are to the center of the action, the more hyper-excited they are likely to become.
Now let’s extend the metaphor. Imagine that you are a smaller fish. The gathering crowd of spectators contains larger, vicious, hidden individuals who will kill you and eat you if they get a chance. If you are one of those larger fish, you realize that the distraction at the center of the “doughnut” has caused many smaller fish to let their guard down. This situation makes them far more vulnerable to your attack. You are torn between watching the “fireworks” and looking for an easy meal.
Unless fresh water fish have had a very long time to get used to the MagnaBait, the radius directly around and adjacent to the device will usually be vacant of fish. Remember this is somewhat like the area directly adjacent to a fireworks display or a bonfire. The spectators, though their attention is captured by the sound and light, will tend to find their own comfort zone.
Obviously underwater structures and weeds will play a big role on where or how closely fish will choose to position themselves near the MagnaBait. Smaller fish use it for protection from predators and big fish use it to hide in ambush. Obviously your chances of catching fish improve greatly if you position your fishing lure or bait close to where the fish may be hiding.
Salt Water Fishing: The Bull’s Eye Strategy
Warning: Never use the MagnaBait while wading or near swimmers in shark habitat. In most salt water environments the area is much larger. So are many of the fish, most of which are also much more aggressive. Many can cover great distances and move at high speeds.
It will probably be appropriate to begin with the “doughnut hole” strategy, then in a short time begin phasing your bait or lure ever closer to the MagnaBait as if it were the bull’s eye of a target.

Can you absolutely guarantee that MagnaBait will attract more fish than if I go fishing without it? |
Yes, we can guarantee your satisfaction because we provide you with a 120-day money back, no questions asked guarantee if you are not satisfied.
As proof we offer actual scientific research that took five years and over $2,000,000 prior to marketing the MagnaBait. We intend to continue our research efforts and to include extraordinary patents, copyrights, and trademarks. We doubt that any other company in the history of fishing lures, baits, or attractants has ever gone to such lengths. A major reason this effort is possible is because it was part of a much broader research project with major environmental and commercial goals. The MagnaBait benefits from that data.
The MagnaBait is a consumer version of a marine industrial device for use in traps that attract spiny (tropical) lobster as well as most types of marine fish common within a few miles of shore. Catching fish in traps is illegal in all United States fresh and salt water with one exception: Any game fish caught in conjunction with lobster in lobster traps can be kept by commercial fishermen under certain regulations.
This one and only exception is extremely important from a research standpoint. To our knowledge, it is the only way to perform side by side research comparisons. Our tests were similar to the “Pepsi Challenge” for fish. In a large variety of tests the fish were able to choose one of the following:
1) Enter a trap where there was no bait.
2) Enter a trap containing live immature lobster or bait.
3) Enter a trap containing the MagnaBait alone.
4) Enter a trap containing the MagnaBait and live baby lobster together.
5) Not enter any of the traps.
Here is the summary of the results:
1) Fish were rarely found in traps with no bait.
2) The MagnaBait alone averaged from 60% to over 200% better than live baby lobsters as bait.
3) The MagnaBait combined in the trap with live baby lobsters as bait sometimes scored higher than either MagnaBait alone or baby lobster alone.
Note:
With the exceptions of the equally powerful but shorter life batteries and a radiofrequency ID tag, the MagnaBait uses all the same parts as were used in the original research electronic bait units.
Note:
By law, the entry way on all spiny lobster traps must be clear of doors or any method that would prevent fish or lobsters from leaving any time at will. Therefore the fisherman only catches those animals in the trap at the time it is pulled and emptied.
The tests were performed in the Florida Keys and the Caribbean. In these areas the type of trapping we did is legal, and the water is clear enough for distant observation by a diver or even a boat on the surface.
Unfortunately these advantages are not available in fresh water. In warmer weather when most people enjoy fresh water fishing, the water is clouded by runoff or algae. We’ve been advised that comparison tests between fishermen will show who was the most skillful at working the lure or landing fish or any of dozens of other variables. Unfortunately this gives poor evidence about whether or not the MagnaBait attracted fish. Truly expert fishermen will usually catch fish with or without it. The MagnaBait is aimed at the other 999 out of 1,000 of us who are not true experts.
Even fish locators aren’t much help because most fresh water fishing is done in shallow water.
We are considering using nets if it can be done legally. Already some people are saying that the net test would be invalid because a large net would interfere with the natural traffic patterns of the fish or even trap some under the net or destroy some aquatic environments, especially if we use the net on or near the bottom. In the meantime, our quest for a high quality, reliable comparison test method will continue. It seems that as far as fresh water fishing is concerned, the MagnaBait will have to do what every other successful piece of fishing equipment has done: Gain its reputation over time as the result of user consensus.
Suffice it to say, we are offering you a product based on more research data than ever before. Though fresh and salt water fish differ somewhat in their specifics, they are quite similar in many ways. Whether you fish in fresh or salt water, you can be equally confident that the MagnaBait will attract far more fish than normal to an area where you can catch them.

I can't afford a boat so I usually fish from shore or bridges. Will the Magnabait help me? |
Not having a boat limits your access to more water. The Magnabait becomes even more essential in this situation because it can attract fish to your bait from an area much, much larger than you otherwise could reach. In this way, the Magnabait serves you in much the same way as a boat would.
Is the Magnabait likely to attract smaller or larger fish? |
The signals sent out by the Magnabait are more likely to attract the larger fish in any given area. Here’s why: Smaller fish are generally well aware of the size of larger predators. They are not likely to make themselves available in a Magnabait-produced feeding frenzy where they become food for the larger fish. Therefore the smallest fish that would come near the Magnabait is probably larger than the top predator in the area can eat.

Does a child need an adult to operate a Magnabait? |
No. The Magnabait is very simple to operate. Because a large fish could get on the line, we would restrict the use of the Magnabait to a child old enough to hang on to his/her fishing equipment and not fall in the water.
I keep my fishing equipment in my vehicle but rarely have time to use it. Will the Magnabait help? |
Millions of people keep fishing gear in their vehicles, but eventually realize that they don’t have enough time to attract fish when they finally stop and set up. The Magnabait can make these short periods of time pay off by attracting the fish much faster to your bait.

Does the Magnabait catch the fish for us? |
We hope not. If you spend time looking at your Magnabait, you’ll probably realize that we could have extended the technology to catch fish as well as attract them. That would take the “sport” out of sport fishing. The Fish Magnet is a time machine. The major function of the Magnabait is to save you the time spent searching for fish by covering dozens of times more water than you normally could. In our view, this makes sense because today people have so little time. Fishing is usually the first and most frequent way that children and adults relate to nature and its animals. Time consuming, boring, and fruitless fishing trips are discouraging. Fishermen and their families stop fishing if it’s not fun and rewarding in the little time they can spend at the sport.
People will still find plenty of time to talk, joke, and relax. The boring and time consuming part of fishing is searching for fish. By reducing the search time, a person learns more about nature and fish in particular. Once the Magnabait attracts the fish, you still have to present the right bait or lure, fool the fish, hook the fish, fight, it, then land it. In addition, we hope you’ll release every fish you can’t eat promptly.
To most children and even adults, few things provide as much personal satisfaction and appreciation of nature as enjoying a fish fry for which you caught the fish. I doubt a child will ever find a drug that can compete with that experience.

Why would a fish come from half a football field away to my bait or lure and the Magnabait? |

Fish don’t have a lot of choice. Fish are the oldest continuous life on this planet – at least 100 times older than man.
Humans live in a primarily two-dimensional world where food can be obtained by thinking. We are rarely in mortal danger and intelligence helps us when we are.
A fish’s world is three-dimensional. Being attacked from front, back, sides, above, and below can happen at any second, often several times per day. Food is won in a free-for-all battle. First come, first served. Under these circumstances, humans wouldn’t last a day. In this high-speed aggressive world, thinking takes far too long. Taking time to make a decision will most likely result in death. Reaction or instinct is your only choice for survival and it is hardwired into the brain, nerves, and muscles. If they don’t work, you die early.
The reason why large fish – sharks and billfish as well as marine mammals like whales and dolphins – show behavior that seems more like intelligence is probably that they are less likely to be eaten by other type of marine animals. Yet they never lose their instincts. They build on them.
The Fish Magnet technologically simulates natural phenomena to which fish are hardwired to perceive and react.

Do I have to use the scent feature if I don't want to? |
Certainly not. The scent feature is just “icing on the cake” for particularly stubborn situations or species highly motivated by scent such as catfish or sharks.
